Anderson Arts Center Art Slam Competition
Art Slam will feature a live art competition among 14 artists. Each artist will be given a “mystery box” of supplies and must create a mixed-media piece of art on-the-spot! The annual Flat Out Under Pressure (FOUP) begins with a 24-hour art-making juried competition. The selected winners are then given the opportunity to choose two images of their work for reproduction on the bins. Oconee County Artist-in-Residence
Oconee County Parks, Recreation & Tourism has a new Artist-in-Residence Program. The selected artist will be provided with a campsite for up to 7 nights during a non-holiday week. Artists must provide their own tent, camper, or RV. In exchange, the artist will deliver an original piece of art inspired by their stay within 90 days after the residency. Arts in the Parks
The National Park Service offers more than 50 residency programs across the country for visual artists, writers, musicians, and other creative media. Programs vary, but residencies are typically 2 to 4 weeks in length and most include lodging. Often artists are invited to participate in park programs by sharing their art with the public.

Buffalo Creek Art Center (Gardnerville, NV)
Buffalo Creek Art Center is a summer artist residency for three-dimensional artists in metal, wood, ceramic and multi- media with an emphasis on aesthetics and craftsmanship. Starting June 1 and ending October 30 artists can select a 4,6 or 8 week stay. Artists will be given free room and workspace and use of all the equipment. This 34-acre property includes a vineyard, fruit orchards, 10 ponds, a miniature train station and hiking trails. Artists will live in a four-bedroom ranch style house with separate bedrooms and a common kitchen. The 4000 square foot studio workshop will have all the necessary equipment for welding, wood carving, ceramics and other forms of three-dimensional work and room for large-scale sculptures.
