Y Exhibit Features Two AAG Members
Anderson Artists Guild members Sandi Bates and George Crown currently have artwork on display at the Anderson YMCA. Each chose one piece from the exhibit to share here.
“I chose this photo to paint because I loved the path surrounded by greenery and rocks,” said Bates. “There are two things I found challenging. I’m always looking for ways to improve my greenery, and this had a lot of plant life that definitely challenged the mixing of greens. I always struggle with rocks, and this photo had just enough to make the path interesting, so they needed to go in. It was a matter of building the shadows and colors of the rocks, and I was surprisingly happy with the results. Don’t you want to walk this path? Those looking for great photos that are free, Pixabay has a great selection.”
Crown has 16 framed prints and six original watercolors in the exhibit. “This photo is a sample of my illustration business painting personal homes on Lake Hartwell,” he said. “I have been doing these for years up in Michigan. The prints on display are of full sheet originals. Some of the originals are available.”
The exhibit will be on display through mid-June. The YMCA is located at 201 East Reed Road. Nonmembers can view the artwork by inquiring at the front desk.
